1973, Appropriated advertisement, 54x35cm, 2005.

" In one of the pages of Art Auction magazine, issued in 2005, there was an advertisement for an exhibition by William Eaglestone in New York. His photography show would had been opened at Cheim and Read Gallery in New York with the title: Night Club Portraits 1973. 

As visual arts coordinator at Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center , by then, in Ramallah, I was preparing the a group show for the Summer School. Appropriating the same advertisement to my own portrait and our group show in Ramallah, I recreated the advertisement with the following info.: 

Born in 1973. Never Been In Nightclub. 28 July to 10 Aug 2005. Sakakini Gallery. P.O.1887 , Ramallah. Sakakini.org. "

The work was exhibited in Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center, Ramallah, Al Ma'mal Foundation, Jerusalem,  The Oslo National Art Academy KHio, Oslo, The Ethnographic and Art Museum, Birzeit  and National Academy Museum, New York.
